Whale & Anchor is a one-woman owned and operated small business by artist and merchant mariner, Jess Yeomans. Jess has worked on the water for the past ten years. She's a mate on a harbor tug in New York City and enjoys the outdoors and creating art at home in Maine.

Jess graduated Summa Cum Laude from FIT earning a BFA in Illustration. After graduating in 2008, she became a full-time employee at the Museum of American Illustration at the Society of Illustrators in New York City. Jess continued to pursue her illustration career and has been working as a freelance illustrator since January 2011.

In December 2015, Jess launched her small business, Whale & Anchor, drawing inspiration from her love of the ocean and her work in the maritime industry. 2025 marks the 10 year anniversary!

Jess is currently accepting consignments and wholesale opportunities. Her original tugboat painting commission list is fully booked until 2028.
